starting next month the city of clayton won't have a fire station at all that. means the nearest station will be 3.5 miles away in concord. last night's vote came after voters failed to pass measure q, a $75 a year parcel tax. if it passed it would have prevented that's closures. the closures will save the fire protection district $3 m the district faces a $17 million deficit. it says it spent its reserves. for neighbors in clayton, the savings don't outweigh the costs it will mean for the city. >> it's hitting us at a tender spot with us because of what we have been through and we in it. others will unfortunately have to go through it. >> kelly's home was destroyed in a fire in clayton a year and a half ago. she says her son narrowly escaped death because firefighters were minutes away. she is worried the next fire in the town could be worse. the district says they understand the concerns of neighbors and they are going to work to redistribute their resources so response times won't be affected. cate caugiran, cbs 5. >>> a man and woman found bound and gagged.
